STEP#1: MAKE YOUR BED - THE MORNING AFFIRMATION
Wake up. Before going for your phone, open a bedside notebook, log the day number, and write the following affirmation: "Today I am practicing. I am awake. I am alive. I breathe in, I breathe out. I believe in me, and I believe in you. Please help me. I am willing to listen.” Then close your eyes, breathe in, breathe out, and listen for a moment or several. This is enough. Some days, you may feel inspired to write more or sit longer. To seal the practice, make your bed. Your bed-making will be your daily morning meditation. Do it deliberately. Devotedly. Promise you will always write your affirmation and make your bed before you pick up your phone.
